Archive for College Life

We interrupt our frequent questions with NEWS!

Susan Blodgett, class of 2007 is participating in new staff training this evening through Tuesday afternoon.  During this training they will be doing outreach at The University of New Hampshire.  She is looking forward to students encountering Christ this next week at UNH through the outreach.

Also Intervarsity’s Fenway Area (Boston University, Northeastern University, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and Curry College) fall conference is a little over a week away.  She and her colleague’s are wanting at least 15 Northeastern students to attend and that their lives would be impacted through the weekend.

Safety in Rural Vermont

The events about a month ago involving sexual assaults at Castleton State have and should shake up people. The common view is that this should not happen here in rural Vermont (See this op-ed from the Spartan). And they are right, it should not. Has something changed? What? Are the students different? Is society different? Are such things the result of several circumstances coming together and resulting in such terrible tragedies? Let me know what you think.

Here is an op-ed article from the Spartan. He brings up an important question.

What is the alternative to getting drunk? What motivates people to drink to get drunk? Why do good people stand around and watch their friends and family members put themselves in danger and even destroy themselves with alcohol and we do nothing? Is there anything we can do?

Spartans, let me know what you think. Answer any or all of the above questions.
